It’s been 6 weeks since my initial Botox injections in my arm. Today I had an appointment with Dr D to discuss how it’s been working and what next injection should look like. They say Botox is most effective after 6 weeks but I honestly saw improvement within the first week and they have continued so far, meaning the effects have not worn off and still working in my favor. We discussed possibly injecting more in my flexors since my fingers still don’t open fully and are still a little tight. The dose in my bicep was pretty spot on. I’ve been able to extend my arm without my bicep pulling it back. The supination in my left ankle is pretty severe so we discussed seeing if we could get more Botox to cover my flexors and my left ankle. The next step is to submit to insurance and then come back in May for my next injections which will be at 12 weeks.
I had a follow up with Dr W to discuss my return to work situation. I’ve been on long term disability during this time. I want to continue therapy but understand the need to return back to work. It’s time. I need to be ready. After much back and forth. I question if I’m ready because I want to be at a certain level but at the same time feel I’m not at that level. I don’t want to disappoint my company, my boss or my peers. I’m afraid to let others down. We agreed I would start part time middle of April at 3 days a week, 4 hours on those days. I’ve got about 3 weeks to get myself excited for work again.
